Well, It's here! 2019

This is just a quick note. I have things to get ready, files for the year. Change them to the new ones for this year. I will prepare the others for taxes this year. We have been buying our farm for awhile, but we start this year as full owners. So good to own it out right, I praise the Lord for that. This farm was originally part of my great grandparents land. They sold this piece of property to my husbands family and they worked it for many years before they asked us to take over. You can see how much this land means to both of us. So back to getting my year started, records started, budgets made, garden plans and most of all under the watch of our Lord. Without Him we would be nothing! Happy New Year everyone.

Trusting God

For even a  better 2019. I could say many things went wrong this year., but then I couldn't be blessed by those that went right. Our newest grandbaby who has grown and playing with her older sister. How blessed is that. A house full of love and laughter. Cancer under control and if it changes I know God is there. So I also know He has us in His hands through this next year also. So to everyone who visits, HAPPY NEW YEAR and MAY GOD BLESS YOU

Garden is growing, if only in my mind!

The garden planning is coming along. My garden spot is 50X38, next to a plot where I plant corn and squash. I will be trying very hard to fill up my pantry with home grown goods.  I have been wearing out my seed books. write and circle the things I'm interested in. Are yours worn too?

We planted 6 peach trees last year along with starting a bigger strawberry patch from our runners. I moved my young cherry trees over in the orchard, next to the peaches. We also have persimmon, pecan, walnut and hickory nut trees. Over next to the new orchard is a roll of blackberries and a roll of raspberries. My hubby and I have been building our homestead for a few years but just in the past 2 have we built up the orchard and berries. I retired last year and ready to have a blast in the garden and orchard. We won't receive any blessings from the peach this year but my cherries are well established. I should have my work cut out for me. I have a pantry closet that is ready to be filled.
How is your garden planning going?

The day is done,

The last child pulled out of the drive way last night. Everyone waving goodbye. Screams from the 2 year old who didn't want to leave. Her brother just before her, with his children and our baby girl, pulling out just before him. We waved big and hard,  all I could keep doing was smile. I walked toward the house, as hubby fed the wood stove feeling warm deep into my soul. When I got into the house, looked around at the silence and thought , My Lord! Thank you so much for the greatest gift I have. My children, and their children. My heart soaked in just how hard it would be for me to send anyone of them , to any kind of harm. God knew His Son would be coming home, but that heartache still had to be there. His Son Jesus, was sent to love my children, more than I could ever do. That He sent His Son for their dad and for me. Praise God for our remembrance of this day. I just praise His Holy Name!
